Supplement Certified Ltd is an independent, ISO/IEC 17025:2017 approved third-party quality assurance company that provides laboratory testing on supplement products in a reliable, accurate and trustworthy manner.
Founded by scientists at Nutrition Research Centre Ireland (NRCI) at South East Technological University, our scientific team are pioneers in carotenoid & omega-3 nutritional research. Supported by specialists in the pharmaceutical and health & food sector, the multi-disciplinary team provide leading expertise in supplement and ingredient testing, regulation, data & analytical science and quality assurance.
At Supplement Certified, we provide validation of ingredient contents and stability in these products over the entire shelf Life Time. We are committed to setting the standard for quality in the supplement industry by helping supplement manufacturing companies attain and maintain the highest standards. For the first time ever the stability of supplements is being tested over the course of their shelf-life.
Professor John Nolan
Director, Chief Scientific Officer
Professor John Nolan leads our scientific strategy. With over 20 years of research experience in the benefits of carotenoid and omega-3 fatty acid supplementation in humans, John has cultivated an extensive network of researchers, ophthalmologists, carotenoid and omega-3 producers, and dietary supplement distributors. John founded the Nutrition Research Centre Ireland (NRCI) in 2012 at the South East Technological University, and is a recipient of the prestigious European Research Council Starting Grant. Additionally, he chairs the Brain and Nutrition (BON) network, dedicated to advancing the prevention of macular diseases and reducing the risk of Alzheimer’s disease using nutrition. To date, John has published 116 peer-reviewed scientific papers.
Dr Alfonso Prado-Cabrero
Director, Chief Technical Officer
Dr Alfonso Prado-Cabrero leads our method development strategy, and is in charge of quality assurance and compliance. Alfonso is a biochemist who holds a PhD in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of Seville (Spain). With over 20 years of experience in carotenoid analysis, biosynthesis, and derivatives, he also has research expertise in cardiac metabolism, cancer genetics, functional food development, and sustainable food production. In 2014, Alfonso joined the Nutrition Research Centre Ireland, where he has published studies on the compliance of dietary supplements with their label claims and on the quantification of meso-zeaxanthin in the human food chain. To date, Alfonso has published 25 peer-reviewed research papers.

Kelly Han
Director, Strategy & Commercial Operations
Kelly Han is a dynamic and experienced professional with over a decade of expertise in business development and operations across both public and private sectors in Ireland and Asia. With a strong background in developing and implementing strategic initiatives, Kelly excels in managing commercial and research projects and intellectual property and leading diverse teams. Currently the Director of Strategy and Commercial Operations at Supplement Certified Ltd. Kelly drives revenue growth and operational efficiency. Kelly holds an MBA, a Diploma in Project Management, and a BA (Hons) in Marketing & Event Management, and is an active member of several professional organizations. Fluent in Mandarin and English, Kelly brings a global perspective to business interactions.
Dr Warren Roche
Head of Data Science and Statistics
Warren leads our work on method validation and product shelf-life determination in line with pharmaceutical regulations. Warren holds a PhD in Mathematics from the South East Technological University in Ireland. Warren joined the Nutrition Research Centre Ireland in 2017, and has co-authored more than 15 research papers. Warren has provided statistical expertise for a range of leading pharmaceutical companies in line with the most relevant regulatory guidance, including shelf-life determination, method validation, and yield improvement activities.
Noel Long
Head of Internal Audit and Regulatory
Noel guides and assists the management and team within internal systems controls as we continue to grow and expand. Noel holds a BSc (Hon’s) Quality Management, is a qualified trainer and CQI/ICRA certified Lead Auditor. Noel is a Quality Management Lecturer at NUIG school of Biological & Chemical Sciences and an approved Subject Matter Expert with leading Certification Body DQS-UL. Noel has over 25 years’ experience as ISO management standards consultant, trainer and auditor.
Tommy Power
Research Technician
Tommy is in charge of conducting product testing and method development and validation in our state-of-the-art laboratory. He holds a BSc in Pharmaceutical Science from the Waterford Institute of Technology, and joined the Nutrition Research Centre Ireland in 2015. He has co-authored a number of peer-reviewed scientific publications. Recently, Tommy transitioned to work at Supplement Certified Ltd. Tommy is in charge of managing our labs at the highest standards.
